Impressed by Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy as Mumbai Indians lift IPL 6 Cricket Trophy

Impressed by Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy as Mumbai Indians lift IPL 6 ~ all the more satisfying to see him pitted against Captain Dhoni of the CSK and win handsomely ~ the same guy who is thought to have been instrumental for Rohit’s shocking omission from India’s World Champions ODI Squad in 2011

~ Warmed to see Wife Anjali & Daughter Sara do the Victory Lap with Sachin Tendulkar and the MI Team

~ Amused that the Fair Play Trophy went to CSK whose Principal has been arrested on Betting and Fixing Charges

~ not so Amused to see BCCI President N Srinivasan yet as President and presenting the Cup to MIs ~ he was loudly booed by a knowledgeable 60000 + Eden Garden spectators when his name was announced as Present on the Podium ~ surely echoed by Millions around India ~ BCCI chickened out this morning from chucking him out ~ probably giving him the courtesy of a Last Bow ~ he gave a Press Conference at 4 pm announcing a Commission to go into the Betting Controversies and reiterated he’s done nothing wrong and will not resign and his arrested son in law Gurunath was merely an Enthusiast and had no real influencing Role Play in the Management of CSK  ! ~ Yeah ! we were born today ! and we believe this !

~ CSK lost the Finals at 3 for 3 in the first two overs when Chasing 149 for a win ~ Malinga was the destroyer and nearly got a hat-trick in the Opening Over itself ~ MI too were down 3 early wickets but did well to recover brilliantly due to Pollard’s unbeaten 60 in quick time

~ One last Thought ~ IPL may survive but N Srinivasan as BCCI President & CSK as an IPL  Franchise  may not

Yes Ritesh, this thought had crossed my mind too ~ Rohit has shown some calibre as Captain of MI ~ he only needs to be right up there in batting consistency to be in the regular playing 11 for India to be seriously considered for India Captaincy ~ Kohli has already proven his batting and fielding prowess and consistency and is seen to be groomed by BCCI for India Captaincy ~ my sense is that though he has the vital fighting spirit he is a bit too arrogant and hot headed with an inflated ego to be Captain who commands respect rather than demands it ~ he needs to tone this down and be a bit more humble
