1980s and 1990s Indian scenarios immediately drifted into my mind
What’s new about this unethical practice….It’s been practiced for decades by the likes of the top Multinational Commercial & Investment Banks and Corporates….In fact I have twice called two top Indians hired by such Employers as Pimps and walked out ! when they put their hands up in deals ! only because they fronted their own !
And one close friend who had a reputed Management Degree and whose father was a Whole Time Director and Top Man in one of India’s Biggest Companies was given this blatant and blunt carrot by a MNC Bank in the 1980s ” Get us your Father’s Corporate Account and we shall employ you !”…My Friend walked out showing his Middle Finger to the HR Head of that Bank !….Good for him !….but I know of many others who have played the fiddle…and believe me it was quite funny dealing with them ! these MNCs played these hired Indians against other Indians !….akin to the British Divide and Rule Policy
Indians now are coming into their own though we still have ass licker Indian families who slave under the MNCs and toe their line…Indian Minority Shareholders be damned !
I have nothing personal against MNCs in General except when they are seen to employ children of Top Bureaucrats and Politicians and Industrialists solely to further their business interests
…and China & India are the world biggest markets and stakes are really high….so these MNCs take these influential short cuts to further business !
Glad they’re being brought to book !….they’ll probably get away with a fine ….though in July and August 2013 we saw top executives of Glaxo and Rio Tinto being jailed in China for bribery
As I said the Stakes are in Billion of Dollars of Business….and Bribery and recruiting Children of Influential Families are routes used to secure this Business
